How To Unhide Hidden Data In USB OR Flash Drive

Some time it causes headache when your External devices like, usb/flash/pen drive and hard drive doesn’t show files but if when you see properties it shows that your usb/flash drive or pen drive has used space grater than free space…


So here are some steps which will show you how to unhide or show files without any data loss.

  • Open “command prompt”
  • Now type the location of your flash drive.. e.g. “d:”, “e:”, “f:”, etc…
  • To see the files/folders which are hidden type “dir /ah”
  • After this type “attrib [name of file/folder] -r -a -s -h”, for example “attrib party.jpg -r -a -s -h”

But if you want to unhide files and folders all at-once than see last step

  • Attrib *.* -r –a –s –h /s /d

Now check your flash drive it will show you all files and folders…

    I did this and it worked to an extent. I Got my file back, But I also Applied this to take affect to the Subfolders and material that is within the folder that was hidden, How do i get that back?

    i cant get the last step attrib (name of my life is removable disk e then i typed -r-a-s-h no luck i cant see all my files just 6 or so. no space between letters?
